From the moment he stepped into the gym, Phet Phangan displayed an innate talent and unwavering determination which caught the attention of his trainer. After just 2 months of training, he represented his gym in his first fight at a festival which he won.
Under the guidance of experienced trainers, he honed his skills, mastering the intricate techniques and strategies of this ancient martial art. With each gruelling training session, he pushed himself beyond his limits, driven by an insatiable desire to excel in the ring.
His first professional fight was at 16 years old in Bangkok. He would make monthly commutes from Nakhon Si Thammarat city which was about 800km away by road to Bangkok city for the scheduled competitions. He would not let distance get in the way of earning an income to help his family or hinder his dreams.
At age 18, he moved to Bangkok to study business administration at Rattana Bundit University as he wanted to improve himself academically. However, being in Bangkok also provided him the opportunity to further his fighting career.
In 2019, he was matched to fight reigning featherweight champion, Yodkritsada sor sommai, at the world-famous Rajadamnern Stadium. He lost the first 3 rounds, but he didn’t give up and persisted until his opponent ran out of stamina. This allowed Phet Phangan to gain enough points to win the fight.
He has participated in over 140 professional fights with 105 wins, 43 losses and 2 draws. He also fought in countries like Japan and Italy. In 2022, in Italy, he won the WMC championship featherweight division against Alex Avogadro.
Phet Phangan was known for his knee techniques to take down opponents in the ring.
His last professional fight was in August 2022 at Rajadamnern Stadium which he won.
